Essential Vans at LakeMania in Rust
Here is a brief report and a few impressions of Lake Mania 2024 in Rust on Lake Neusiedl. At the invitation of Josef (EV051), we were able to exhibit our vans at Lake Mania this year. I’m actually more of a wind water sports enthusiast (kitesurfing, sailing). Until now, I was more familiar with paddling from watching others…
What impressed me most during these two days was getting to know the people, boats and diversity of the sport. The super friendly and relaxed atmosphere reflected the harmonious overall picture of the event. Great presentations on everything from kayak building to fantastic expeditions around the globe… I mean, really, from the Arctic to the Antarctic and everywhere in between, rounded off the programme. Unbelievable, I couldn’t believe that they were self-sufficient for up to 60 days in their kayaks…
(Absolutely crazy, but in a positive, enthusiastic way). I also liked the fact that the evening lectures focused on the lake’s diverse functions and its integration into regional life. The mix of entertainment, information and sporting events makes Lake Mania a very special event that paddlers and non-paddlers alike should not miss. (…I learned that rowers are also very welcome. 😉 ) You can feel the shared spirit and warmth carried by a genuine ambition to do something great.

CONCLUSION:
The paddlers seem to be a really nice community ;-), ESSENTIAL VANS fits in well. 🙂
